With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 330, 331 and 332 together.
The Educational Research Centre at Drumcondra forms part of St. Patrick's College of Education and, as such, shares in the State grants paid through my Department to that College. It is estimated that for the current year the centre's share of those grants will be £61,400. This sum does not include the cost of such services as heating, cleaning, and lighting which are borne by the college and for which separate figures in respect of the centre are not readily available.
In addition, a sum of £10.245 is being paid by my Department in respect of specific research projects which have been undertaken by the centre. No other grants have been received by the centre from Irish sources during the past two years, but the centre has been successful in attracting grants from some American foundations so that a number of specific research programmes, which will be of benefit to education in Ireland, might be undertaken.
I understand that the subvention from those foundations amounted to approximately £130,000 in 1974 and £100,000 in 1975.
