Vol. 286 No. 12

Written Answers. - School Transport Service.

72.

asked the Minister for Education why school transport is not provided for children (details supplied) attending Valleymount national school, County Wicklow.

The question of the establishment of a transport service, under the terms of the free transport scheme, from this locality to Valleymount national school which would cater for the children in question was considered by the Department in January, 1974. There were not then a sufficient number of eligible children to warrant the establishment of a service. However, if the Deputy has information in regard to additional children who might now be eligible, I shall be glad to have the matter looked at again.

Question No. 73 postponed.

74.

asked the Minister for Education when transport will be provided for a boy (name supplied) to Granlahan national school, County Roscommon.

An application for a travel permit for this child was received by CIE on 29th October, 1975. A ticket was issued on 28th November, 1975.

Question No. 75 postponed.
