asked the Minister for Finance when work will commence to protect Bray promenade, County Wicklow, under the Coast Protection Act, 1963.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bray Promenade.
The Commissioners of Public Works have received a proposal under the Coast Protection Act, 1963, from Wicklow County Council for coast protection works at Bray promenade sea wall. The statutory preliminary examination in respect of this proposal has not yet been carried out and having regard to prior commitments under the Act I cannot say when the Bray proposal is likely to be reached.
Is the Parliamentary Secretary in a position to tell me when the results of the statutory preliminary examination mentioned in his reply will be to hand?
Not for a long time.
Is there no way in which the Parliamentary Secretary can speed up this to ensure that no irrevocable damage is done to this promenade?
I am sorry. I cannot give that assurance to the Deputy.
Has the Parliamentary Secretary received any word lately from the Bray Urban Council and other interested people about the condition of this sea wall?
I have no mention of that in my file.
