Vol. 290 No. 4

Written Answers. - Local Authority Houses.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of local authority houses bought under (a) the 1970 and 1972 sales schemes and (b) the 1973-74 scheme in each county and county borough; and the gross selling price in the aggregate of all these houses under each scheme.

Information relating to the sale of local authority houses is not available in my Department in the form sought by the Deputy. The records of local authorities generally do not distinguish readily between houses sold under the 1970, 1972, and the July, 1973 schemes, respectively. The following table shows the number of houses sold in each county and county borough during the period 1970-71—1973-74 (inclusive):

Local authorities have been requested to furnish corresponding data on houses sold by them during the transitional financial year April-December, 1974 and 1975. When this data comes to hand, it will be sent to the Deputy.

The information sought in the final part of the question is not available in the Department.
