asked the Taoiseach the purchasing power of £100 in March, 1973, and in April, 1976, reckoning March, 1973, as the base.
Written Answers. - Purchasing Power of £100.
57.
It is estimated on the basis of the consumer price index numbers that £163.10 would be required at mid-February, 1976, to purchase the same quantum of goods and services at retail prices as £100 would have purchased at mid-February, 1973. The index numbers are calculated only in respect of mid-February, mid-May, mid-August and mid-November each year.
