The question of the availability, suitability and cost of private rented accommodation is at present being reviewed by the Minister for Local Government. That review would be very relevant to any question of extending rent control to rented accommodation not now covered by rent restriction legislation and accordingly, pending the outcome of it, I am not in a position to make any statement as to whether amending legislation is likely to be initiated.
