I wish to draw attention to my Department's Press release of 29th October on the introduction of a new national sales scheme for local authority houses. A circular letter on the scheme will be issued to local authorities within the next few days.
Can we expect that Cork Corporation will be able to embark on a tenant house purchase scheme in the next month?
They will have it within the next few days. I would imagine that, as a result of the Press release, they are preparing that scheme now.
Is there a closing date for applications under this scheme?
The closing date will be in June next year. The scheme will not die for quite a number of years.
People can make applications up to June, not 31st December.
