Vol. 293 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - AnCO Training Centre.

11.

asked the Minister for Labour if he has completed the investigations to find the most suitable location for an AnCO training centre in the Dublin northside; and if he is now convinced of the special merits of the Finglas area in this regard.

Cavan), (for the Minister for Labour): Following studies carried out by them AnCO now propose to establish a training centre in the Finglas area to serve the needs of the north city. They are currently negotiating with Dublin Corporation with a view to purchasing a suitable site in that area for the centre.

Would the Minister indicate when it is likely that negotiations will be completed?

(Cavan): I am not in a position to say that at present. I have said that negotiations are being carried out at present. It is just not possible to say when they will be completed.

Could the Minister give any indication of where exactly in the Finglas area it is proposed to locate the centre?

(Cavan): I cannot until the site has been procured. It is in the Finglas area.

Is the Minister satisfied that Dublin Corporation have suitable sites in the Finglas area available to them?

(Cavan): They are being explored at present.

Could the Minister say whether they are exploring the possibility or are negotiating in respect of a specific site?

(Cavan): Negotiating with a view to purchasing a suitable site.

Is the Minister optimistic that such a site will be available?

(Cavan): Reasonably optimistic.
