Vol. 297 No. 8

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 5, 13, 6, 14 and 17 (to be taken at 3.30 p.m.). Private Members' Business will be taken from 6.45 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., motion No. 34 (resumed). I might mention that yesterday Deputy Tunney asked me about two Bills from the Minister for the Gaeltacht, Údarás na Gaeltachta and Bord na Gaeilge. They are both with the draftsman.

We understood previously that the Taoiseach informed Deputy Tunney that they were expected to be circulated within a fortnight or so. When they come back from the draftsman, may we take it they have to go back to the Government?

No. They have been cleared by the Government.

And they are only gone to the draftsman?

It is only a technicality. I do not suppose it will be long but I cannot say how long.

On the Order of Business, I would like to give notice of my intention to raise on the Adjournment, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, the question of a strike in a technical school in Portlaoise where the pupils are not going to school and whether the Minister can resolve the problem.

I will communicate with the Deputy in relation to that matter.
