asked the Minister for Finance the plans his Department have for the further development of recreational facilities in the Phoenix Park, Dublin.

The Phoenix Park at present caters for a wide range of recreational activities and I see no need for any major developments in the way of further facilities for recreation. Plans have been prepared for the provision of such additional basic facilities as car parks and toilets.

asked the Minister for Finance the total acreage of the Phoenix Park; and if he will state the areas and acreage which are not for general public use.

The details are set out in a statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Chomhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

The total area of the Phoenix Park is 1,752 acres.

Those areas in the Park which are not open to the general public are as follows:—
