Vol. 301 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Transport Service.

127.

asked the Minister for Education why five children of a family (name supplied) in County Donegal get transport to Dooish school while the youngest member has been refused.

The chairman of Dooish board of management was informed on 26th April, 1976, that as an extension had recently been built at Stranorlar NS it would no longer be possible to justify exceptional provision of transport away from Stranorlar because of lack of accommodation there. It was further stated that it had been decided, however, to continue to allow fare-paying transport to Dooish NS for children already in receipt of the facility but that new applicants would have to be considered in accordance with the normal regulations. It is in accordance with such decision that fare-paying transport is not available to the pupil in question.
