Up to 30th September, 1977, which is the latest date for which statistics in respect of the low rise mortgage scheme are available, 1,701 applications had been received by local authorities. The number of loans fully paid was 71 and 23 transfer orders were signed in respect of applicants who wished to purchase, under the scheme, the new local authority houses allocated to them.
