Vol. 302 No. 2

Written Answers. - Dublin Hospitals Closure.

336.

asked the Minister for Health the plans his Department has for the future use of the hospital buildings scheduled to close upon the opening of the proposed new hospital at St. James's, Dublin; and the estimated closure date of each of the hospitals involved.

It is envisaged that three of the Federated Dublin Voluntary Hospitals, Sir Patrick Dun's, Mercers and Baggot Street Hospitals, will transfer their services to St. James's Hospital.

The future use of the vacated hospital buildings has not yet been decided. This will be considered in detail in the light of requirements at the times of the transfer of the individual hospitals.

It is not possible at this stage to estimate the closure date of each of the hospitals.
