asked the Minister for Agriculture if, based on last year's usage, there is a surplus of coarse grains in the 12 months up to harvest 1978; if he has any steps under consideration to ensure that storage will be available for all the produce of next year's harvest.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Coarse Grains Storage.
18.
On the basis of total usage of coarse grains for animal feeding last year and the estimated home production of coarse grains this year a surplus situation does not exist. Apart from on-farm storage the commercial storage in the country available for home-grown grain is estimated at 1.4 million tonnes. This is expected to be adequate for next year's harvest.
