Vol. 302 No. 8

Written Answers. - Cattle Headage Grants.

185.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a person (name and details supplied) in County Sligo will be paid Cattle Headage Grants for both 1975 and 1976.

No cattle headage scheme grant is payable to this herdowner in respect of 1975. Following inspections under the 1975 scheme, three herds previously separately registered under the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme in the names of the herdowner and other members of his family were amalgamated under a single herd number. An advance of £420 had been paid under the Beef Cattle Incentive Scheme early in 1975 in respect of one of these herds. A grant of £300 due in respect of the joint herds for 1975 under the Cattle Headage Scheme was offset against this advance. The balance of £120 was offset against the 1976 scheme payment and a payable order for the remainder, that is, £228.00 has been issued to the herdowner concerned.
