The net receipt from income tax under PAYE in the financial year 1977 was £445.1 million. The net receipt under other heads was £77.9 million of which an approximate apportionment of £7 million is attributable to farming profits. The corresponding estimates for the income tax year 1977-78 are £460 million, £85 million and £14 million respectively.
