It is too early in the year to estimate accurately the number of new industries which are likely to be established in County Wexford in 1978.
I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that a grant has been approved for a new industry, Penn Aluminum International Company, which is expected to start production in Enniscorthy in the middle of 1978 and to employ 100 persons within 12 months. The authority are at an advanced stage of negotiation with the promoters of another project for location in County Wexford, but I cannot disclose details of this project for the present.
The advance factories under construction at Gorey and New Ross are due for completion in August 1978 and are being vigorously promoted for suitable industrial projects.
