I have recently indicated to Mayo County Council that I am prepared to approve of the necessary borrowing for this project and I am awaiting the consent of the Minister for Finance to the issue of the loan from the Local Loans Fund. My approval is not required for the council's acceptance of a tender for the construction of the pool and it is a matter for them to make arrangements for commencement of the work.
