asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state the number of houses to be completed in the present year by (1) Wexford Corporation (2) Enniscorthy UDC (3) New Ross UDC and (4) Wexford County Council.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 310 and 311 together.
It is not possible to give a firm estimate of the number of local authority dwellings which are likely to be completed in any area in 1978 until the capital allocations for local authority housing in 1978 have been decided. Claims from housing authorities are being examined in my Department and capital allocations for existing commitments will be made shortly. Allocations for new work will follow later. Similarly it is not possible at this stage to give an extimate of the number of local authority houses which will be completed in 1979 by Wexford Corporation. This will depend on the 1979 capital allocation. At the 31 December 1977 the numbers of local authority dwellings in progress and at tender in these areas were as follows:
