Arrangements are in hands, and are being pressed ahead as speedily as possible, for the provision of a new 16-classroom primary school in the Martello Estate area of Portmarnock. In the meantime consideration is being given to the provision of extra prefabricated accommodation for new pupils seeking enrolment at the start of next school year.
In the case of the post-primary school the position is that problems relating to the site have now been resolved and planning for the new school has been resumed.
It is hoped that building will be commenced by autumn 1978.
