Vol. 304 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Cork Blind Person's Pension.

403.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have a blind person's pension paid to a person (name supplied) in County Cork.

It was decided by an appeals officer on 14 October 1977 that the person concerned was not entitled to a blind person's pension on the ground that her means exceeded the statutory limit for entitlement to pension. Information has since come to hand which suggests that her means may have changed and the case was submitted in January 1978 to an appeals officer. On the direction of the appeals officer the case was referred on 17 February 1978 for re-investigation. When the report of the re-investigation has been received the case will be referred to the appeals officer whose decision I will have notified to the Deputy.
