Watchmen employed by the Office of Public Works in Dublin Castle are paid the same rate of pay as is paid to watchmen in several other Departments of State. A claim for the general operative's rate of pay has been made on behalf of the watchmen. Following a discussion with the Watchmen's Union on the matter the claim is being examined and a decision will be conveyed to the union as soon as possible.
