Vol. 304 No. 6

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

492.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applications on hand in his Department for telephone service from residents of the Corbawn residential development in Shankill, County Dublin; when the first such application was received in his Department; and when the applicants can expect service.

Eighty-nine, the first of which dates from May 1975. Cabling to serve the applicants is scheduled for completion before the end of the year.

493.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, and when he will provide public telephone kiosks in Quinn's Road, Falls Road, and Corbawn Wood in the Shankill area of County Dublin.

It is planned to provide an additional kiosk in the Shankill area to provide relief for an existing kiosk in Rathsallagh estate and to cater for further housing development in this and adjoining areas including Corbawn Woods estate.

The use likely to be made of kiosks at Quinn's Road and Falls Road would not be sufficient to justify provision of kiosks at either of these locations.
