Vol. 304 No. 9

Business of Dáil.

Some weeks ago Deputy Dr. Browne and myself requested that Thursday afternoons be reserved for dealing with Questions. At that stage the Taoiseach mentioned that he was putting the matter before the Committee on Procedure and Privileges. I should like to know if the Taoiseach has heard from that Committee and if he will outline his attitude in regard to this matter.

I have not got a report back from the committee at this stage. Perhaps the Ceann Comhairle might be able to answer the question better than I could.

Has the Taoiseach any personal views as regards having these questions disposed of? I think it is important.

I shall just give one advice—perhaps I should not. The Deputies opposite should be more selective in their questions; they would do better.

A Deputy

We are doing all right.

The Taoiseach should be more selective with his Ministers.

(Interruptions.)

I am calling a Private Notice Question.

With respect, I think Deputies on all sides of the House believe that many of the questions they have furnished are important and I think time should be made available to have them answered.

The Deputy's Government changed the position. Does he want to change the rules now when they apply to themselves?
