Loughlinstown NS which came into operation on 5 September 1977, in prefabricated units located on the site of St. Colmcille's NS Wyatville, Ballybrack, caters for pupils from Glenavon, Achill and associated housing developments. Arrangements are being made for the provision of a new school building for these pupils. Sketch plans for a 16 classrooms school have been prepared by the architects approved by the Reverend Chairman of the board of management and are at present being examined in the Office of Public Works.
