Vol. 305 No. 8

Written Answers. - Major Road Works.

392.

asked the Minister for the Environment why major road works on the main primary route to the west, which have been in progress now for almost two years, cannot be expedited by carrying out the work over weekends, or even at night, in order that the danger to motorists and pedestrians from the present rough surface be eliminated as speedily as possible.

The timing and method of execution of road works are matters for decision by the appropriate road authority. I understand that there has been no avoidable delay on major road works in progress on the route referred to by the Deputy.
