asked the Minister for the Environment the cost of reports and investigations already carried out on the proposed high level bridge in Waterford.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 390 and 391 together. Arising from the application of Waterford Corporation for a bridge order for the erection of a bridge across the river Suir upstream of Redmond Bridge, their latest proposals are at present the subject of technical examination and consultation with the local authority. As the statutory procedure normally involves the holding of a local inquiry, it is not possible at this stage to anticipate the outcome of any such proceedings.
I understand from Waterford Corporation that approximately £165,000 has been expended to date on reports and site investigations in relation to this proposal.
