Vol. 305 No. 9

Written Answers. - Certificate of Reasonable Value.

396.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department have had any difficulties in assessing an application for a certificate of reasonable value from a building contractor (details supplied) for a housing scheme in the County Dublin area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

397.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has had any correspondence relating to the application for a certificate of reasonable value for a house (details supplied) in Dublin.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 396 and 397 together. The assessment of applications for certificates of reasonable value for the scheme in question presented no particular difficulties to my Department. On 20 August 1977 a certificate issued in respect of the house mentioned, at a price of £13,100.

On 19 October 1977, the builder applied for a revised certificate at an increased price of £13,495. The applicant indicated that he proposed to sell the house at this price irrespective of whether or not a revised certificate was issued, and, in the event of the application being refused, he requested that the original certificate be withdrawn in respect of this house. The application was refused on 10 November 1977, and the house in question was excluded from the original certificate as requested. No further correspondence has been received from the applicant regarding this application.
