I am informed by Bord na Móna that the board have examined on a number of occasions the possibility of erecting a peat briquette factory in Bellacorick, County Mayo. They have established that the extent of available bog lands in North Mayo is not adequate to permit of peat production in the quantities required to maintain a commercially viable briquette factory.
