asked the Minister for the Environment if he will now permit Laois County Council to proceed with work on the extension of Mountrath, County Laois water supply scheme to include four unserviced houses on New Line road, in view of the established fact that a group scheme is respect of these four houses could not be economic and as local house tenants could not bear their share of the cost of connection with the town supply.

: My Department have informed Laois County Council that no objection is seen to the inclusion of this scheme in their 1978 small schemes programme. It is for the council to decide which schemes from their programmes they will undertake with their 1978 small schemes allocation.
