: Prosecution statistics are compiled by the Garda Síochána on an annual basis and are published in the commissioner's annual crime report, a copy of which is supplied to each Deputy. The figures asked for in the question would have to be specially assembled from a large number of re-cords at local level and I do not consider that I would be justified in asking the Garda to undertake the task.
The annual crime report includes details of prosecutions under the 1963 regulations mentioned in the question and the report for the year 1977 is expected to be published within the next few weeks.
Details of prosecutions for infringements of red traffic light signals are not shown separately in the statistics.
