Vol. 308 No. 4

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 5 (resumed), 6, 8 (resumed), 4 and 7. Business will be interrupted at 3.30 p.m. to take Nos. 6, 8 and 4, if not already reached by then. It is proposed to interrupt business at 6 p.m. to take No. 7, if it has not been reached by then. If No. 7 has been finished before 7 p.m. it is proposed to return to the business which will have been interrupted at 6 p.m. Private Members' Business, No. 16 (resumed), will be taken between 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. In case this seems complicated, in effect I am asking the House to take the EMS motion now and continue until 2.30 p.m. when questions will be taken. Then, because there is urgency about a number of the other items, such as No. 7—the Industrial and Provident Societies (Amendment) Bill —it is proposed to carry on with this and other Bills at that time. I understand it is possible there will be more speakers on the motion than would permit us to conclude it by 2.30. In that event, we will resume the debate on the motion tomorrow morning.

I would remind the Taoiseach that he did not make provision for the sos.

That is so. The sitting will be suspended between 1.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. That makes it all the more necessary to give notice about the resumption of the debate on the motion tomorrow morning.
