Mr. Belton

asked the Taoiseach if he will state, in respect of all State and semi-State bodies under the aegis of his Department, the appointments made to the board of each since the Government came into office, together with names and addresses of persons so appointed.

The Taoiseach

There are two such bodies under the aegis of my Department, namely, the Law Reform Commission and An Chomhairle Ealaíon.

Two appointments have been made to the Law Reform Commission since the Government took office. Mr. Roger Hayes, Director of Research with the Commission, was appointed to be a member for a period of five years with effect from 24 November 1977 and Professor Robert Heuston, Regius Professor of Law, Trinity College Dublin, was reappointed a part-time member for a further three-year period ending on 19 October 1981.

There have been no appointments to An Chomhairle Ealaíon since the Government took office.
