Tenders which were to be submitted to the Department not later than 25 January 1978 were invited for public liability insurance only in connection with all Civil Defence activities. Those invited to tender were given the option of quoting for cover for a period of one year, three years or five years. The most favourable tender, which was accepted, was for a period of one year.
