The land in question, which contains 31.9 ha—80 acres—is suitable and required for planting but has remained unplanted as it is subject to certain rights mainly relating to grazing and litter for three adjacent landowners. Discussions are in progress with these rightholders in an endeavour to procure a release of their interests in return for a fee simple interest in part of the lands. It is not proposed to offer the lands to the Land Commission.
