asked the Minister for Education if his Department paid any grants to St. Mary's school for moderately handicapped children, at Athlumney, Navan, County Meath, in 1977 or 1978; if so, the amount paid; the date of payment; and if he is aware that an injection of money is urgently needed to enable the school to continue.

This two-teacher national school which was opened on 1 May 1977 has an enrolment of 25 pupils. The grants paid in respect of the school since then are as follows: (a) teachers' salaries, approximately £800 (per month); (b) free stock of grant, £50, 1 June 1977; (c) capitation grant for maintenance, £165—31 January 1978, £42—22 May 1978, £165—23 August 1978.
An application for a capital grant in respect of reconstruction works which were carried out to the building now in use as a school will be considered in conjunction with a report which is available from the Commissioners of Public Works.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I wish to raise on the adjournment the grave situation in relation to the supply of oil for industry, schools and homes as a result of the continuation of the Irish Shell dispute and to ask the Minister also the steps if any that are contemplated to effect a resolution.
