asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in issuing a letter for lodgment in the Land Registry consenting to the transfer for value, of property (details supplied) in County Kildare, in order to discharge an inhibition entered in the folio; and if he is aware that the solicitors have written to the Land Commission in the matter in July, September and October 1978.

The Land Commission dealt promptly with an application made by the solicitors for consent to subdivision in this case. There was, however, a certain amount of misunderstanding subsequently between the solicitors and the Land Commission as to what was required before the relevant transfer could be registered on the folio. In fact, the inhibition which appeared to constitute an obstacle had been removed from the folio in May, 1961. I understand that the Land Commission have now informed the solicitors of the actual position.
