Vol. 311 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cathal Brugha Barracks (Dublin) Married Quarters.

156.

asked the Minister for Defence if there are any plans to hand to replace the married quarters at Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin.

I inspected these quarters recently and have decided to initiate a programme for their phased replacement with modern dwellings. Under the scheme which will be undertaken by the National Building Agency ltd., 68 new dwellings will be built in the form of two-storey blocks, each block containing four flats. Each of the flats will have a lounge, a kitchendining room, a bathroom and a number of bedrooms. While most of the flats will have three bedrooms, a number with four bedrooms and some with two bedrooms will be built.

Every effort will be made to have the new dwellings provided at an early date. The first phase of the scheme providing for at least 12 dwelings, will be undertaken this year.
