Vol. 312 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 9 (resumed) 10 and 11 (resumed). Private Members' Business will be taken from 7-8.30 p.m., No. 59 by agreement.

Could the Minister indicate when it is proposed to take No. 5, the Whiddy Island motion?

Next Tuesday.

Has a decision yet been taken on the venue for the inquiry?

The Minister will deal with that when he is introducing the order.

Do I understand that the venue will be announced next Tuesday when the order is taken and not before that?

I understand that it is the Minister's intention to deal with the whole matter comprehensively next Tuesday.

But not before?

Have I the permission of the Chair to read my Private Notice Question?

No. We cannot discuss the reasons for Private Notice Questions being disallowed or otherwise we would be here all day. I have had several of them.

I am sorry, I was not told that my question had been disallowed. I want to ask the Minister for Social Welfare if he would make a statement on the point that social welfare recipients in outlying areas of Dublin are not receiving their cheques.

I already conveyed to the Deputy the reason for disallowing his question but perhaps he was not at his place of employment.

May I ask permission to raise this on the Adjournment?

I shall consider the matter.

When is it proposed to take the Committee Stage of the Safety in Industry Bill, No. 16 on the Order Paper? It has been lying there for some time.

That is a matter for the Whips. It is not on the Order of Business today.
