Vol. 312 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Dublin School.

220.

asked the Minister for Education if he has received any proposals for a secondary school to serve the Corduff estate in Blanchardstown, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the overall projected educational provision at second level for this area.

My Department have not received any proposals for the setting up of a secondary school in the Corduff area of Blanchardstown.

The second level school needs of the Blanchardstown area are at present served by Coolmine Community School. A second school is scheduled to open, in Blakestown, this year. These two schools should cater for the demand for post-primary places in the Blanchardstown area until about 1983-84 when it is proposed to provide a third post-primary school, in the Corduff area. A number of other sites have been reserved for post-primary schools in the Blanchardstown area and these schools will be provided as and when they are required.
