asked the Taoiseach (a) the percentage of the workforce which is female, (b) the percentage of the female workforce which is married, (c) the percentage of the female workforce which is unmarried; and (d) the percentage of females between 16 and 65 who are in the workforce at the latest date for which figures are available.

The series of Labour Force surveys provides the only source of the information requested by the Deputy. The most recent survey relates to late April 1977 and the relevant percentages derived from it are shown below. In this context the total labour force covers persons recorded as unemployed in that survey, including those seeking regular work for the first time.
