Vol. 313 No. 3

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

233.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs to arrange to have a telephone sanctioned for a person (details supplied).

It will not, I regret, be possible to provide service for the applicant concerned until a cabling scheme for the area is completed early next year.

234.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if the necessary consents to a suitable site for a telephone kiosk at Newtown, Kilcock have yet been obtained.

A site has been selected and the preliminary work necessary for obtaining the consent of the local authority to the site is having attention.

235.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if in view of the current industrial dispute he still adheres to his budget estimate of £116 million receipts for the telephone service in 1979.

It is not possible at present to forecast how the budget estimate will be affected by the current industrial dispute.
