198.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 196, 197 and 198 together.

Since 1966 the Dublin Advisory Council in Post-Primary Education have been considering the educational requirements of Ballyfermot. All school authorities, including the two convent schools and representatives of the parents living in the area were regularly consulted as to future development. In April 1975 it was finally agreed by all parties that the senior cycle school for 500 boys and girls would be built, that it would be operated by a board of management under the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee, and that the two convent schools would discontinue their senior classes and participate in the management of the new senior school.
