Vol. 313 No. 11

Written Answers. - Ballybrack (Dublin) New Garda Station.

298.

asked the Minister for Justice, in view of the increase in population in the Ballybrack area of Dún Laoghaire, if a Garda station will be provided there, or other necessary action will be taken to provide extra gardaí for the area.

The Garda authorities consider that the provision of a station in Ballybrack would not be warranted at present and that the existing arrangements whereby the area is served from Cabinteely and Shankill stations make the best use of available police resources. They state that the Garda strength at both stations is the maximum that can be provided at present but the question of allocating additional gardaí to both centres will be further considered according as additional manpower becomes available for assignment.
