Vol. 314 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Dublin School for the Deaf.

196.

asked the Minister for Education the amount of money provided for the School for the Deaf, Blackrock, County Dublin, and the plans, if any, to increase this amount.

It would not be in accordance with normal practice and procedure to publish details of the grants paid to individual schools.

I can say, however, that in the case of this school the full cost of the salaries of the recognised teaching staff was borne by my Department. The school also received the capitation grants payable to schools for the deaf, which are higher than those for ordinary schools.

An additional grant towards the cost of special equipment was paid in February last.
