In the 1978 calendar year income from social insurance contributions was £257.3 million and from health contributions was £14.5 million. It is estimated that income from social insurance contributions in 1979 will amount to £302.4 million and that the average social insurance contribution from each insured person will be in the region of £106 for the year.
