It is the long established practice of my Department to publicise any schemes under which grants or other forms of assistance are available, with a view to ensuring that eligible persons will be aware of their rights and will know how to pursue them. The publicity takes a variety of forms including newspaper and television advertising, announcements incorporated in Ministerial speeches, annual progress reports to the Oireachtas and contacts with relevant organisations. Leaf lets giving full particulars are available in the case of the major schemes. In addition any member of the public making inquiries in regard to a particular scheme is given every assistance by officials of my Department.
