An analytical study carried out by my Department in 1976 indicated that the cost of revaluing agricultural land would, depending on the system used, vary between £7.1 million and £10.6 million, which in present-day terms is £10 million and £15 million, respectively. It is thought that the revaluation in question would involve a time-scale of at least ten years.
