Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - Dublin Roads Proposals.

418.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that a section 4 motion has been passed by Dublin City Council prohibiting the City Manager from proceeding with the Chapelizod bye-pass on a line which would separate The Ranch housing estate from Sarsfield Road despite the fact that the City Council strongly supports a Chapelizod bye-pass behind The Ranch and across land in public ownership, and if he will state which of the compulsory purchase orders are not now being proceeded with and if the alternative route suggested will be approved by him in the absence of the need for any compulsory purchase orders.

I am aware of the section 4 resolution to which the Deputy refers. I have made no decision in relation to the Sarsfield Road-St. Laurence Road/Lucan Road Area Compulsory Purchase Order made by Dublin Corporation. No alternative route has been proposed to me by the Corporation.
