Under my Department's scheme of grant-aid for the appointment of development officers to voluntary organisations, I have sanctioned grants towards the employment of 48 young officers in 21 youth organisations. The recruitment of these officers is at present being undertaken by the organisations concerned and I anticipate that the majority of the posts will be filled before the end of the year. I am not in a position to comment at this stage on what the arrangements may be in 1980.
